What are the basic rules of points rummy?

Points Rummy is a popular variant of Indian Rummy, which is a card game that involves making sets and sequences using the cards in your hand. Here are the basic rules of Points Rummy:

1.       The game is played with two decks of cards and two to six players.

2.       Each player is dealt 13 cards, and the objective is to form sets and sequences.

3.       A set is a group of three or four cards of the same rank, but different suits. A sequence is a group of three or more cards of the same suit, in consecutive order.

4.       The game begins with a toss to determine which player will make the first move.

5.       The player who goes first must draw a card from either the closed deck or the open deck, and then discard one card to the open deck.

6.       The other players then take turns doing the same thing, drawing a card and discarding one until a player has formed sets and sequences and declares their hand.

7.       The player with the highest score at the end of the game wins. Points are calculated based on the value of the cards remaining in each player's hand.

8.       The value of the cards is as follows: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Ace has a value of 10 points, and all face cards have a value of 10 points. All other cards have their face value.

9.       If a player declares their hand and has no valid sets or sequences, they receive a penalty of 80 points.

10.   If a player fails to declare their hand before their opponent has finished, they receive a penalty of 20 points for each card in their hand.
